HVB BANK Hungary is one of the leading banks in Hungary, providing comprehensive and flexible services under favourable conditions to medium-sized and large companies as well as private individuals, the self-employed and small enterprises.
Based on our 2003 year-end balance sheet total (HUF 734 billion) we have a share in the Hungarian banking market of 5.3%, propelling us up to sixth place in the ranking of Hungarian financial institutions.
Besides our excellent business performance, in 2003 our Bank successfully merged with CA IB Értékpapír Zrt., which the previous year numbered among the leading broker houses in Hungary with a market share of around 10% (e.g. ranked second in primary security trading), thus our multi-purpose banking activity can now ensue under an increasingly efficient framework between the members of the HVB Group.
In accordance with the business strategy approved by our parent company in Vienna, Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG, we are implementing a HUF 10 billion investment, based on which our Hungarian network will expand to 100 branches by 2007, a network that has steadily grown over the last 10 years in the main business centres around the country. Through further developments we wish to reach out to entrepreneurs and private individuals in smaller provincial towns and the districts of the capital with our financial products and services.
