In its capacity as the governmental bank and pursuant to this enabling legislation and subsequent promulgated regulations, the Bank shall act in the public interest and shall endeavor to ensure a secure financial system within the Faroes, as well as the stable development of the Faroese community as a whole.
Thus, pursuant to the enabling legislation, the functions of the Bank are the follow-ing:
1) to be the bank of the government,
2) to ensure a secure financial system, and
3) to strive to ensure the stable development of the Faroese community as a whole
