| NLB West-East Bank AD is a newly established bank on the Bulgarian market. Operations started in November 2003 after nearly one and a half year long period of technical, legal and business preparation. The origins of the bank are from Slovenia. A country which in May 2004 entered into European Union as the most developed among the newcomers. The strength of the Slovenian economy whose very typical representatives are our shareholders, allows the Bank a self confident and optimistic start-up. The bank has following original shareholders (founders): The NLB Group pursues the mission of being the largest International Financial Group in Slovenia. Its share of banking markets exceeds 40 percent and it is the strongest Financial Group in Slovenia. It is present in 16 markets and its role in the counties of Central and South-East Europe is also growing. The clients’ desires and requirements come first at the NLB Group. Together, NLB Group creates opportunities and faces the challenges in Central and South-East Europe. Factor Banka DD, Ljubljana was established as the first privately owned Bank in Slovenia back in 1993. The bank, with assets size of 250 million EUR, serves mainly corporate clients with very flexible and self tailored banking products. In basic business philosophy, the NLB West-East Bank should be the copy of Factor bank at the Bulgarian market. The mission of the bank at the Bulgarian market is coming out of the activities of the original shareholders: to be strong and stable internationally business oriented bank, able to offer a complete banking service mainly to corporate clients. The above stated mission does not represent anything new in the highly competitive Bulgarian banking sector. The real question, most frequently asked by potential clients, is: what can we offer that the other bulgarian banks don’t? We believe that some specifics can be identified. Two of them are especially worth to know: The banking network of Nova Ljubljanska Banka and Factor Banka is at the moment the most developed one at places of the former Yugoslavia. The network consists of affiliated Banks in Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Kosovo. We believe that taking into account traditionally extensive economic relations between Bulgaria and those countries, NLB West-East Bank can be an excellent platform in many aspects.
