| Established in November 1992, we now enjoy a strong reputation for developing mutual trust and cooperation with clients. We actively service small and medium-sized enterprises – the fastest growing sector of Bulgarian economy. Unionbank has agreements with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and the German Bank Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau (KfW) for credit lines designated for SME financing. We are the first bank to participate in the Finance Facility for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the European Union and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Our successful cooperation with EBRD also includes a Trade Finance facility. During 2002 EBRD became a shareholder with 15% equity stake of the bank's capital. Some of our major international partners are American Express Bank, Citibank N.A., New York and Commerzbank AG, Frankfurt am Main and the credit lines with these banks are in support of our documentary operations – issuance of letters of credit and bank guarantees. Our network of correspondent banks – more than 600 banks and their branches in about 100 countries - gives our customers the opportunity to order and receive documentary payments to and from any part of the world. In July 2001 we established our subsidiary Unionleasing Ltd. which is one of the leading leasing companies with complete portfolio comprising machinery, agricultural and medical equipment, vehicles, computers, etc. The company offers flexible financing schemes thus enlarging the scope of business opportunities for our clients. We believe that the professional expertise of our enthusiastic team is the key to provide high standard services.
