| Bulgarian Postbank was re-established on April 2nd 1991. Since 1991 the bank grew substantially. Because of its conservative and wise policy, it was one of the few Banks in Bulgaria that not only survived the banking crisis in 1996 – 1997 but also continued to grow and develop even in these hard times for the Bulgarian bank history. Postbank was privatized on November 9th, 1998 by ACBH, which acquired 78.23% of the Bank’s equity capital. Today EFG Eurobank and CBH (now entiraly owned by EFG Eurobank Ergasias) already hold 99.65% of the equity of the bank. With more than 15 years of successful banking history, today Postbank is one of the leading universal banks in Bulgaria. Our assets are BGN 2.2 billion as of June 30th, 2006 and continue to grow steadily; our share capital doubled, reaching BGN 208 million. We have a very well managed credit portfolio, which guarantees our stability. Our branch network is one of the best developed in Bulgaria – with over 150 branches and a presence in more than 2000 post offices we are practically everywhere in the country – just next to you. Among our clients are some of the biggest, stable and respected companies operating in Bulgaria, as well as thousands of small business firms and individuals. In 2005 Postbank opened and renovated more than 40 offices, invested over BGN 40 M. and plans to keep this trend in 2006 as well. Postbank is rated by FITCH Ratings with long-term investment grade BBB+ and F2 short-term. The investment rating demonstrates the stability of the Bank, its place among the most credible and progressive financial institutions in Bulgaria and the strong position of its mother company, EFG Eurobank. Postbank was awarded various prestigious awards, such as the "Clients award" by Pari Daily, the Grand Prix for Innovativeness and Quality Products at the annual "Banks, investments, money" magazine, as well as two product ones for its successful "Active money" deposit and American Express credit cards. In parallel with the above, our Bank was among the first four financial institutions granted a certificate from the Bulgarian Donors’ Forum for Largest Corporate Donor in the Financial Sphere. The award was for Postbank’s successful Social Responsibility Program in the field of education, arts, culture and sports in Bulgaria. |
